Nonogram puzzle with paired clues: play Twinlatch free

Read the numbers, fill the cells and reveal the picture. In Twinlatch most rows are latched in pairs, and one raspberry twin number counts a shape that touches both rows. Today’s three practice boards and the first ten ladder pictures run on this page, free, with no sign-up. This is a gameplay preview: the Twinlatch app for Android looks and sounds better.

Today’s practice boards are the three the Twinlatch app deals as its free daily practice. Replay them as often as you like.

This is a gameplay preview, and browser play is unranked practice. The Twinlatch app looks and sounds better, with its full visuals, the picture reveal animation, sound and haptics, a loupe for large boards and pinch zoom. The ranked Daily, the same board for everyone each UTC day, and its leaderboard live in the Twinlatch app, where the Daily is free.

How to play this nonogram puzzle

  1. The numbers above each column give its runs of filled cells, top to bottom, with at least one empty cell between runs.
  2. Rows read the same way, left to right, unless they are latched. A latched pair is tinted as one band, and a raspberry twin number drawn across both rows counts one shape that touches both rows, cells joined edge to edge.
  3. With Fill selected, tap a cell to fill it, or drag along a row or column to fill a run. Switch to Cross to mark cells you know stay empty. Tap a marked cell again to clear it.
  4. Match every row, latched pair and column to reveal the picture. Crossing off the leftover empty cells is optional.

A finished line’s clue dims and is struck through, and when a row, pair or column is complete its leftover cells are crossed off for you. Undo and Redo take back or replay a whole stroke. Reveal cell fills or crosses one cell that follows by logic, and Undo takes that back too. Wrong fills are counted but never flagged as you go: if every cell is marked and the picture has not appeared, at least one mark is wrong. With a keyboard, arrow keys move between cells, Enter or Space marks with the current brush, and X crosses a cell off.

Logic grid puzzle tips for twin clues

  • Start with the big numbers. A run longer than half its line always covers the middle cells, whichever way it slides.
  • A twin number is one shape across both rows, so a twin 2 is two cells stacked one above the other, and a big twin number usually has cells in both rows near the same columns.
  • Read a latched pair as a strip two cells tall. The pair’s plain numbers each stay inside their own row and cannot touch the twin shape.
  • Cross off what you know is empty. Crosses are half the deduction, and they make the next run easier to place.

Today’s practice boards

The three practice boards are seeded by the UTC date, so everyone who opens them today gets the same three boards, and they are the boards the Twinlatch app deals as its free daily practice at its default 10×10 size. Each is generated fresh and proved by the app’s solver to have exactly one solution. New ones arrive at 00:00 UTC. Your best time on each is remembered on this device only.

The Daily is a different board: one shared picture a day, ranked by time in the app. Practising here never spends or rehearses it.

What the Twinlatch app adds

The app keeps the ranked side: today’s Daily against a shared leaderboard, all 107 pictures across 5×5, 10×10 and 15×15 boards, a gallery of the pictures you reveal, a loupe and pinch zoom for large boards, and settings like large clues, high contrast and cross-first tapping. The tutorial, today’s ranked Daily, the first 26 ladder puzzles and three practice boards a day are free with no ads or lives. The $4.99 Twinlatch Full Game Unlock or the StackForge Play Pass adds all 107 pictures, unlimited practice and the full Daily archive.

Nonogram puzzle questions

What is a nonogram puzzle?

A nonogram is a logic grid puzzle that hides a picture. The numbers beside each row and above each column give the runs of filled cells in that line, in order, with at least one empty cell between runs. Reading the rows and columns against each other tells you which cells must be filled and which must stay empty, until the picture appears.

What is a paired clue logic puzzle?

Twinlatch latches most rows in neighboring pairs. A raspberry twin number drawn across both rows of a pair counts one connected shape that touches both rows, cells joined edge to edge, never diagonally. The pair’s other numbers each belong to the one row they sit in. Neither row of a pair can be solved alone, which is what makes it a paired clue puzzle.

Are these today’s Daily?

No. They are the three practice boards the Twinlatch app deals for today as its free daily practice, generated from the UTC date and proved to have one solution. The Daily is a different board, the same for everyone each UTC day, ranked by time in the app, and its leaderboard lives there too. Nothing you do on this page is ranked.

Do I need an account or an install?

Neither. The puzzles run in this page, you can replay them as often as you like, and nothing about your play is sent anywhere. Your best times are kept only in this browser.

Are there ads, lives or timers?

No. The browser puzzles are free with no ads, and the Twinlatch app has no ads, lives or energy. In the app the tutorial, today’s ranked Daily, the first 26 ladder puzzles and three practice boards a day are free; the $4.99 Twinlatch Full Game Unlock or the StackForge Play Pass opens all 107 pictures, unlimited practice and the full Daily archive.
