Every StackForge Studios app that requires or offers an account lets you delete that account and all associated data directly in the app, or by contacting us. Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
How to delete your account in-app
These steps apply to all StackForge apps with accounts (PlateStack, Nineward Sudoku, and others as they launch):
- Open the app.
- Go to Settings (gear icon, usually in the top-right corner or bottom nav).
- Tap Account or Account & Security.
- Tap Delete Account.
- Read the confirmation — deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed.
- Confirm deletion. You will be signed out immediately.
Once you confirm:
- Your account, profile, and all personal data are queued for permanent deletion.
- Personal data is targeted for deletion or deidentification from active systems within 30 days, subject to lawful exceptions.
- Game progress, health data, fitness logs, photos, and social connections are removed from active systems. Protected backup copies expire under the schedule described below.
- PlateStack clears its local account cache, saved scan copies, and app-generated export files on the device after the server confirms deletion. Original photos in your system photo library or files you previously shared outside the app remain under your control and must be deleted separately.
- Active subscriptions are not automatically cancelled — cancel through the App Store or Google Play before deleting to avoid future charges.
Cancel your subscription first
Deleting your account does not automatically cancel an active App Store or Google Play subscription. Cancel before deleting to prevent future charges:
- iOS: Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions › find StackForge app › Cancel.
- Android: Google Play › Profile › Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions › find StackForge app › Cancel.
Request deletion by email
If you can't access the app, email us and we'll delete your account manually:

Include: the email address on your account and the app name.
We will authenticate and respond to the request within the period required by applicable law. Personal data is targeted for deletion or deidentification from active systems within 30 days after verification.
What gets deleted
When you delete your account, we permanently remove:
- Your email address and display name.
- All health and fitness data (PlateStack): food logs, workout logs, body metrics, progress photos, sleep data, and automated-information history.
- Game progress, scores, streaks, and achievement history (puzzle and arcade games).
- Social connections, friend lists, squad memberships, and shared data.
- Device tokens for push notifications.
- Server-side functional, diagnostic, security, and product records tied to your account, subject to the limited lawful-retention exceptions below. We do not create targeted-advertising profiles.
- Data held by processors is included in the deletion workflow where applicable. Independent transaction records retained by Apple, Google, Stripe, or another provider remain subject to that provider's legal obligations and privacy policy.
What we may retain
We retain limited data only where legally required:
- Transaction, consent, tax, accounting, security, and legal records for the period required by applicable law or a valid dispute.
- Records of abuse reports or Terms of Service violations only where retention is reasonably necessary and permitted by law; direct account identifiers are removed or access-restricted when they are no longer required.
- Encrypted or access-restricted backup copies until they expire under our standard backup cycle. Where Washington consumer-health law applies, consumer health data in backups is deleted no later than six months after the request is authenticated.
Anonymous, non-identifiable aggregate statistics (e.g., total puzzles solved globally) are not deleted because they contain no personal data.
