Make 10 game: play today’s Tenward Daily free

Drag through two to four touching number tiles that add up to exactly 10. Clear space before the rising floor pushes a tile off the top. It runs on this page, free, with no sign-up. This is a gameplay preview: the Tenward app for iPhone and Android looks and sounds better.

Today’s board is the same one the ranked Daily deals, row for row. Retry as often as you like.

This is a gameplay preview, and browser play is unranked practice. The Tenward app looks and sounds better, with its full visuals, animation, sound and haptics. Today’s ranked attempt, your streak and the Daily leaderboard live there too, and it is free to start.

This game sends nothing about your play anywhere. Your best score stays in this browser.

How to play this make ten puzzle

  1. Press a tile and drag to a neighbour. Tiles touch in eight directions, so diagonals count.
  2. Keep going for up to four tiles. The bubble on your last tile shows the running sum.
  3. Land on exactly 10 and let go. The route clears in gold and the gap stays empty, because nothing refills from above.

A tile that would push the sum past ten is ignored. If you let go on any other total, the route resets, so trying costs nothing. You can also tap tiles one at a time instead of dragging.

With a keyboard, the arrow keys move a marker around the board, Space picks a tile, Enter clears a ten and Escape cancels the route. The Hint, Shuffle, Undo and Clear buttons each have one charge per run, the same as the app.

Sum to ten: the pairs worth knowing

  • 1 + 9
  • 2 + 8
  • 3 + 7
  • 4 + 6
  • 5 + 5

Longer routes pay more and buy time: 2 + 3 + 5, 1 + 4 + 5, 2 + 2 + 3 + 3 and 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 all make ten. Tiles are colored by number, and the pairs that make ten share a color family (1 and 9 are pink, 2 and 8 blue, 3 and 7 green, 4 and 6 violet), so a ten often shows itself before you add anything up. The 5 is the pearl tile that pairs with itself.

The rising floor, and why it ends every run

A new row climbs from the bottom every 12 seconds at the start. The wait shrinks by one second for every 30 seconds you survive, down to one row every 2 seconds. Long routes and cascades, where the tiles that drop form a new ten on their own, bank a little time against the next row.

Matching tens never gets harder. The clock does. The run ends when a row pushes a tile off the top, and your result is the score and the number of rows you survived. Coral is the warning color: the board edge turns coral when two or fewer empty rows are left, and the timer turns coral in its last six seconds. If you would rather take the points sooner, Rise now brings the next row up early while nothing is selected.

Scoring is simple. A pair is worth 10 points, three tiles 14 and four tiles 20, multiplied by your combo, and every row you survive pays 10 times its row number. Staying alive is worth more than any single clear, so clear from the tallest column first.

Today’s Daily and Practice

The Daily is seeded by the UTC date, so everyone who plays it gets the same opening board and the same rows rising in the same order. It is the identical board the app deals for its ranked Daily, and a fresh one arrives at 00:00 UTC. Here you can retry it as often as you like.

Practice deals a random board each time with the same rules. Your best rows and score are remembered on this device only.

What the Tenward app adds

The app keeps the ranked side: one ranked Daily attempt a day against a global leaderboard, a play streak, the Daily archive and tile themes you earn by rank. It is free to start with no ads: the free app has the ranked Daily and 3 Practice runs a day, and an optional $4.99 one-time unlock or the StackForge Play Pass removes that cap.

Make 10 game questions

What is the make 10 game?

It is a number puzzle where you pick tiles that add up to exactly ten and clear them. Tenward adds a rising floor: new rows climb from the bottom, so you are clearing against a clock and the run ends when a tile is pushed past the top.

Which numbers add up to 10?

The pairs are 1+9, 2+8, 3+7, 4+6 and 5+5. Tenward also lets you chain three or four touching tiles, such as 2+3+5, 1+4+5 or 1+2+3+4, and diagonal neighbours count as touching.

Is this the same board as the app?

Yes. Today's Daily here is built by the same engine and the same date seed as the ranked Daily in the iPhone and Android apps, so the opening tiles and every row that rises are identical. The only difference is that a browser run is never ranked.

Do I need an account or an install?

Neither. The game runs in this page, you can retry as often as you like, and nothing about your play is sent anywhere. Your best score is kept only in this browser.

Why does the board keep rising?

The rising floor is the whole challenge. Matching tens never gets harder, but the rows arrive faster the longer you last, starting at one every 12 seconds. Long routes and cascades buy a little time, and clearing from the tallest column keeps you alive longest.

Are there ads or paywalls here?

No. The browser game is free with no ads, and the Tenward app is free to start with no ads either. An optional one-time unlock ($4.99) or the StackForge Play Pass adds extras in the app.
